About Harvester Chain Sharpening
Beginning
HCS was initially started up by Kenny Dobson after Jari Lapperi came to him with the concept, proven to be a valuable service in Finland, of foresters having their chains professionally sharpened instead of spending valuable time sharpening them themselves allowing them to continue making money in their harvesters. With 40+ years of combined experience in UK and Finnish forestry Kenny and Jari went on to fill this gap in the UK forestry market with support from Kenny’s daughter Nikki and son Alan.
NOW
In 2022 Nikki has taken on the business continuing to professionally sharpen chains from customers nationwide alongside her partner Tony who came in with 25+ years experience in agriculture. HCS currently covers most of Scotland and the North of England with our own chain courier service driven primarily by Tony. We also use other major couriers to collect and send chains all over the UK, across to Northern Ireland and as far south as Somerset.

HCS make regular van collections and deliveries stretching from the M62 (Manchester to Hull) and up to as far north as Inverness. For anyone outside of this area, HCS use an outside courier service.
